HAINES ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY, HAINES (2009)
Client:City and Borough of Haines
Services Provided:  Project mechanical engineering as a sub-consultant for design-build and permit ready construction documents and construction services of the Assisted Living Facility in Haines currently under construction. Mechanical systems included heat recovery ventilation and exhaust for all apartments and central kitchen area, domestic water, wet and dry sprinklers, electric cove heaters with future hydronic radiant floor heating, and electronic controls. Provisions for future ground source geothermal systems were included.  Approximate total mechanical construction cost $450,000.




FOODLAND CENTER SUPERDRUG REMODEL, JUNEAU 2008
Client: Foodland Center Corporation
 
Services Provided:  Design-build and permit ready construction documents for plumbing systems in the Foodland Center Superdrug space remodel. Murray & Associates worked with Behrends Mechanical Contractors and Owner with the scope and layout of the plumbing systems.  Mechanical  Plumbing systems included macerating plumbing fixtures connected to existing gravity drain plumbing.  Approximate Total Project Cost $300,000.

TRUE NORTH FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, MENDENHALL VALLEY BRANCH, JUNEAU (2004)
Services Provided:  Sub-consultant providing project mechanical engineering design-build and permit ready construction documents and construction services.  Mechanical systems included ventilation system with oil-fire hydronic heating system, variable speed ventilation and cooling, individual zoned terminal units, domestic plumbing, wet sprinkler systems, and a DDC building automation system.  Approximate Total Mechanical Construction Cost $300,000.




SITKA BEVERAGE AND BOTTLING PLANT, SITKA (2001) 
Services Provided:  This fast-track project included mechanical systems for a bottled water production plant that captures alpine water from Blue Lake and the existing Sawmill Cove industrial Park water system.   Mechanical Systems included heat pump heating and cooling with the thermal source being the excess alpine lake water, supplemental oil-fired hydronic heating, compressed air systems for bottling operations, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet water purification, heat recovery ventilation, domestic plumbing, wet and dry sprinkler, and direct digital controls. Spaces included bottling plant and water treatment facilities, testing laboratory, administration offices, and visitors tourism areas including lobby, gift shop, and restrooms. Approximate Total Mechanical Construction Cost $350,000.

TEMSCO HANGAR ADDITION, JUNEAU (1998)
Services Provided:  Project mechanical engineering design-build and permit ready construction documents and construction services.  Mechanical systems included remodel and renovation of existing oil-fire hydronic heating system, addition of exhaust systems domestic plumbing, and electronic controls.  Approximate Total Mechanical Construction Cost $60,000

AEL&P CONSOLIDATED OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATION CENTER, 5601 TONSGARD COURT, JUNEAU (1996)
Client:  Alaska Electric Light and Power
Services Provided: Generated performance specifications to assist development of design-build project.  Worked closely with the contractors to develop permit ready and construction documents for the mechanical system of the two story office building.  System includes utilizing individually zoned ground source heat pumps for providing heat to the ventilation, radiant slab heating, and domestic hot water systems. Exhaust air systems were incorporated into an air-to-air heat recovery system to capture waste heat and transfer it to outside air introduced to the building.   This project also includes a building automation system with detailed energy monitoring features.  Mechanical Engineering services included initial performance analysis, specifications and guidelines, design-build documents, construction services, adjustment of mechanical systems, and commissioning. Approximate Total Mechanical Construction Cost $330,000.





WHITE PASS & YUKON ROUTE RAILROAD DEPOT, SKAGWAY (1996)
Services Provided:  This fast-track project included new ventilation and exhaust system, building automation control system and an extension to the hydronic heating system and wet sprinkler system.  Spaces included a large main lobby, gift shop, inventory storage, and small offices. Approximate Total Mechanical Construction Cost $190,000.
